After serving four years as a forensic psychology evaluator for child protective services, k-12 schools, hospitals, and pain clinics, David joined the mental health leadership within higher education. He has been the director of college and university counseling centers since 2007, and has led notable organizational growth and innovation in college mental health services across three institutions prior to arriving at Cornell in December 2022. Nationally, David is recognized as a leader in collegiate mental health and is a past President of the Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors.

In his free time, you will find David exploring the quite beauty of nature, the quaint charm of small towns, and the electric energy of major cities. Living in Ithaca provides convenient access to all of the above.
