Welcome to Cornell Health, Cornell University's student health center on the Ithaca campus. Cornell Health provides medical care, mental health services, and support for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students studying in Ithaca. Select services are also available to other Cornell community members, including visiting students, and partners and spouses of students. Our mission is to help you live well to learn well, so you can get the most out of your time at Cornell. Our more than 250 health care providers and staff members work together to provide welcoming, inclusive care for Cornell's diverse student population. When you start at Cornell, you'll be assigned a Primary Care Provider at Cornell Health: a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant responsible for coordinating your medical care during your time on campus. If you get sick or injured or need a checkup or preventive care visit you can schedule an appointment with your Primary Care Provider, or a member of their team. In addition to primary care medical services, we provide nutrition services, sexual health care, physical therapy, lab testing and x-rays, and immunizations and allergy shots. Our on-site pharmacy provides prescription and non-prescription medication, self-care items, and safer sex supplies. Just as important as caring for your physical health is prioritizing your mental health and well-being. There are many ways to support your ability to thrive at Cornell. Make sure you get enough sleep. Fuel your body with nutritious food, and get some exercise. Find healthy ways to manage stress, like spending time with friends, getting out in nature, and learning to mediate. You'll find great support systems on campus, including academic advisors, residence hall advisors, the Dean of Students Office, the Office of Spirituality and Meaning Making, the Learning Strategies Center, and more. If you find yourself needing additional support, our Counseling & Psychological Services department, known as CAPS, can help. CAPS counselors can connect you with the right level of care, which may include workshops, individual or group counseling, mental health medication management, same-day consultation, and referrals. Our Student Disability Services department works to ensure all aspects of student life are accessible, equitable, and inclusive of individuals with disabilities. They can also help students access academic and environmental accommodations. Cornell Health also provides support for students who are struggling with alcohol or other drugs, or disordered eating, or who are victims of assault or bias. Cornell Health is located on Central campus, right on Ho Plaza. During the academic year, we're open Monday through Friday, with some services available evenings and Saturdays. Appointments can be scheduled through our secure patient portal, myCornellHealth, or by calling us. Both in-person and virtual appointments are available. For students studying in Ithaca, most appointments have a $10 charge. Some services, including preventive medical care and some mental health services, have no charge. Ithaca students pay a yearly Student Health Fee which helps support this subsidized, affordable care available to students no matter which health insurance they have. Whether you're enrolled in Cornell's Student Health Plan, or another health insurance plan, we’ll bill your insurance as the primary payer for most services, and cap most remaining Cornell Health costs at the $10 visit charge. If you ever have an urgent concern, support and assistance are available 24/7. Students can call Cornell Health any time, day or night, to consult with a medical or mental health provider. When we're closed, our on-call providers can refer students who need immediate care to one of Ithaca's urgent care clinics or to the nearby hospital. If, at any time during your Cornell career, you need care or assistance, Cornell Health is here for you.
