Dani's favorite part of the job is helping students explore their identities and values. Dani uses a client-centered, strengths-based approach to help students tap into their inherent skills while adding new tools along the way. Dani’s lived experience as queer, non-binary clinician, along with training in this area, supports their passion for providing affirmative care for LGBTQ+ students. Dani is excited to return to the higher education setting because they think this life stage, though sometimes overwhelming, is also full of possibilities. Dani finds it rewarding to get to bear witness to the full range of human experiences and to get to highlight someone’s growth and resilience. Dani's practice is informed by mindfulness strategies, somatic therapy, DBT skills, motivational interviewing, and poly-vagal theory.

Personal interests:
Outside of work, Dani enjoys hiking, kayaking, and exploring the many beautiful places in and around Ithaca with their family and friends. They like to take pictures, write poetry, grow veggies and flowers, and build things in their free time.
