How to connect with mental health services

Scheduling an access appointment is the first step to connecting with many services offered by Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS)

Students can schedule an access appointment to:

Access appointments are free and available to all Cornell students, including those on the Ithaca, Geneva, and Cornell Tech campuses.

Note: You do not need to schedule an access appointment to participate in CAPS' drop-in services (Let's Talk and CAPS workshops).

How to schedule an access appointment

*Most access appointments are conducted by Zoom. If you prefer an in-person appointment, please call us to schedule your appointment instead of scheduling online.

What to expect from your appointment

Access appointments are free 25-minute appointments with a CAPS counselor, typically conducted by Zoom.

During your appointment, the counselor will ask questions to get to know you, your background, your reasons for seeking help, and your history with mental health care.

At the end of the conversation, they will provide you with care recommendations to meet your needs, and help you get connected with services and support.
