CAPS support in Martha Van Rensselaer Hall
Students in Human Ecology and Public Policy – as well as other students taking classes in Martha Van Rensselaer (MVR) – can now access Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) support on site at 2221 Martha Van Rensselaer Hall.
MVR is one of CAPS' Embedded Therapist sites through which ongoing mental health support is provided from satellite locations across campus. The goal is to supplement CAPS’ offerings at Cornell Health with convenient, on-site services tailored to specific student audiences.
Embedded therapist services at MVR are ...
- designed to meet the needs of Human Ecology and Public Policy students; open to all students
- offered by CAPS counselor MacKenzie Enderwitz, PsyD
- provided at 2221 Martha Van Rensselaer Hall, as well as by Zoom (see services and hours below)
- offered to supplement Cornell Health's full breadth of services
Services include:
- "Let's Talk" drop-in consultation (free)
- Individual counseling ($10 visit charge)
"Let's Talk" drop-in consultation
Let’s Talk is a drop-in service that allows students to consult informally with a Cornell Health counselor without an appointment. Consultations are offered first-come, first-served, and are typically about 20-25 minutes in length. (Note that Let's Talk is not a substitute for counseling, and not appropriate for urgent concerns or mental health emergencies.) Learn more about Let's Talk.
Please check back for MacKenzie's Let's Talk hours.
Students may also access other Let's Talk hours, locations, and providers. See our main Let's Talk page for details.
Individual counseling
MacKenzie provides single-session therapy and short-term individual counseling from her office at 2221 Martha Van Rensselaer Hall, as well as by Zoom.
Students wishing to schedule a counseling appointment with MacKenzie should first schedule a CAPS access appointment. During this free 25-minute appointment, you can discuss your concerns with an access counselor, and request a counseling appointment with MacKenzie.
To schedule a CAPS access appointment:
- Log in to myCornellHealth using your Cornell NetID and password, and select "Appointments"
- Or call Cornell Health during business hours to speak with a scheduler: 607-255-5155
Follow-up counseling appointments may be scheduled with MacKenzie directly, or by calling 607-255-5155.
Students may also ask to schedule counseling appointments with other Cornell Health therapists. Learn more on our Individual Counseling page.
Group counseling
During the spring 2026 semester, MacKenzie is co-facilitating an Eating and Body Image Skills and Support Group at Cornell Health. The group meets Mondays, 4:15–5:30 pm beginning March 2, and is open to all undergraduate and graduate students.
Students may also participate in other counseling groups offered by Cornell Health. Learn more about our current group counseling offerings.
How to contact MacKenzie
Staff and faculty members who would like to consult with MacKenzie – as well as student groups who are interested in a mental health-related program – may email MacKenzie to set up a time to connect (non-urgent, non-clinical questions only).
Students who are interested in mental health support should access Let's Talk or individual counseling through the means described above, or explore other CAPS services.
