Clinical Director of Sports Medicine / Physician

Dr. Sucheski-Drake completed her Bachelor’s degree at Cornell University, majoring in Human Biology, Health and Society in the College of Human Ecology, earned her MD from SUNY Upstate Medical University, and completed Family Medicine Residency and Sports Medicine Fellowship at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine.

Prior to Cornell Health, Dr. Sucheski-Drake was an attending physician for 5 years at the Cayuga Medical Center Sports Medicine and Athletic Performance, providing specialty consultation and team physician coverage for Cornell University, Ithaca College, TC3, and served as the Medical Director of the Cayuga Lake Triathlon. She has been a primary care physician at Cornell Health since 2017, and served as Assistant Clinical Director of Sports Medicine in the past year, working with sports medicine and Athletics staff, as well as directly with Dr. Dave Wentzel, the longtime Clinical Director of Sports Medicine, until his retirement in September 2020.

Dr. Sucheski-Drake's areas of interest include primary care, sports medicine, ultrasound in sports medicine, and global health. She can also provide care or assistance in Spanish. Outside of work, Amy enjoys staying active with running, biking, kayaking, skiing and hiking. She lives in Dryden with her husband, son, daughter and stepson.
