Professional Interests:
April’s interest in social work began during her undergraduate studies through coursework and her experience interning at a school-based youth services program, where she supported adolescents navigating periods of growth and transition. As a counselor, April enjoys working collaboratively with clients to help them make choices that reflect their personal values, goals, and needs.
Prior to working at Cornell, April worked in a higher level of care program for individuals with eating disorders. She has training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and she values incorporating mindfulness into her work. April’s clinical interests include eating concerns, body image, anxiety, OCD, interpersonal relationships, and family dynamics.
Personal interests:
Outside of work, April enjoys running, hiking with her dog, cooking & baking, and spending time with loved ones.
