Flu Shots & COVID Boosters

How to get your annual vaccinations

Cornell Health recommends getting vaccinated against influenza and COVID each fall in preparation for "flu season," which typically peaks December through February

Flu vaccination

Annual flu vaccination is recommended for college students due to the highly contagious nature of influenza and the close proximity within which students live and study. (See flu vaccine recommendations from the CDC, as well as information for people at increased risk of developing flu-related complications.)

Fall flu vaccination clinics

Each fall, Cornell Health partners with Wegmans Pharmacy to provide our annual on-campus flu vaccination clinics

Clinics are offered at different Ithaca campus locations, as well as in Geneva and at the Ithaca Wegmans. Vaccination is FREE for students, staff, faculty, and retirees, and is available to all other community members (age 3+).

COVID boosters

The New York State Department of Health recommends everyone ages 6 months and older be vaccinated against COVID. COVID boosters are especially important for individuals with certain health conditions, as well as those at increased risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection, including people living in residential congregate settings (like student housing). See the latest COVD vaccination recommendations from the NYS Department of Health.
