Rabies Vaccination Requirement

For new College of Veterinary Medicine students

Information for Fall 2026 students

In addition to completing Cornell's standard New Student Health Requirements, students entering Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine must receive – or provide documentation that they have received – the two-dose rabies vaccine.

Rabies vaccine clinic at Cornell Health

All new CVM students who have not satisfied the rabies vaccine requirement must attend Cornell Health's rabies vaccine clinic (whether or not you have received your rabies vaccine and/or submitted your documentation). 

How to check if you've satisfied this requirement:  

  1. Log in to myCornellHealth using your Cornell NetID and password
  2. Go to "Clearances & Requirements" in the menu bar
  3. The status of "Veterinary Rabies Vaccine" must be "Satisfied" 

If your "Veterinary Rabies Vaccine" item is "Not Satisfied" or reads "No Data," that means you have NOT satisfied the requirement and you must attend Cornell Health's rabies vaccine clinic.  

Clinic dates & times:

  • Saturday, August 15: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Saturday, August 22: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Location: Cornell Health, 110 Ho Plaza, Level 4

You will be scheduled into a timeslot to receive your first vaccine dose on Saturday, August 15, and your second dose on Saturday, August 22. 

If you are unable to attend the rabies vaccine clinic during your scheduled timeslot(s), please call Cornell Health at 607-255-5155 and select option #2 to reach our nursing staff.

Already received your rabies vaccine?

Before August 15, please upload documentation of your two-dose rabies vaccination:

  1. Log in to myCornellHealth using your Cornell NetID and password
  2. Go to “Clearances & Requirements” in the menu bar
  3. Select "Veterinary Rabies Vaccine" to upload your documentation

If on August 15 your "Veterinary Rabies Vaccine" status still reads "No Data" or "Not Satisfied" (see how to check, above), you must attend the rabies vaccine clinic on August 15 during your timeslot. During your visit, Cornell Health's nursing staff can review your documentation and confirm that you've met the vaccination requirement.
