Professional interests:
Tessa was drawn to the field of social work due to her interest in social justice and the ways in which systems impact mental health outcomes, particularly in marginalized communities. She also has interest in exploring the ways mental and physical health are interconnected and treating trauma/racial trauma. Tessa strives to ensure her therapeutic approach is culturally responsive/affirming, strengths based and trauma informed. She has formal training in EMDR, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing. Tessa's professional experience includes working with severe mental illness, providing crisis counseling, and providing individual psychotherapy services.
Personal interests:
Outside of work Tessa enjoys weightlifting, hiking, and playing with her two Belgian Malinois dogs.
