Getting vaccinated each year is the best way to protect yourself – and others – against seasonal influenza.
Annual flu vaccination is especially recommended for college students due to the highly contagious nature of influenza and the close proximity within which students live and study. (See information from the CDC for people who are at higher risk of developing flu-related complications.)
Fall flu vaccination clinics
Available to students, staff, faculty, retirees, family members, & other community members
Our on-campus flu vaccination clinics have concluded for Fall 2025.
Each fall, Cornell Health partners with Wegmans Pharmacy to provide our annual on-campus flu vaccination clinics. This fall, 10 clinics were held at various campus locations between early September and mid-November, providing flu vaccination to thousands of Cornell community members.
Vaccination at Cornell Health
Available to students & student spouses/partners
Students (and their spouses/partners) who missed our fall flu vaccination clinics can get their flu shot at Cornell Health. (Unfortunately, we are not licensed to provide flu vaccination services to non-students.)
How to get your flu shot:
- If you are at Cornell Health for a medical appointment, ask for a flu shot while you're here.
- Flu shot appointments can also be scheduled by logging in to myCornellHealth and selecting "Appointments," or by calling 607-255-5155.
- If you would like to get a flu shot and a COVID shot at the same time, please call to schedule an appointment: 607-255-5155.
Cost: There is no cost for students to receive their flu vaccination at Cornell Health. For student spouses/partners, the cost will depend on their insurance coverage (flu vaccination is covered by most insurance plans).
Other vaccination options
Other places to get your flu vaccination include:
- Wegmans Pharmacy in downtown Ithaca
- CVS Pharmacy at Target
- Nearby CVS, Kinney Drugs, and Walgreens pharmacies
- Your local primary care provider
Cost: You will be asked to provide your insurance information when getting vaccinated off campus. Flu vaccination is covered by Cornell's Student Health Plan (SHP) and employee plans, as well as most other insurance plans. (Don't forget your pharmacy insurance card!)
