Professional interests:
Katy is interested in specializing in anxiety, depression, peer and family relationships and life stage transitions, not only due to her education but also her lived experience.
Katy started her career as a recreational therapist and is currently finishing her master's degree in social work at Binghamton University. Katy was drawn to social work due to her interest in social justice and to assist in dismantling the stigma surrounding mental health.
Katy's therapeutic approach is humanistic, strengths-based and goal-oriented. She is a culturally sensitive clinician, who emphasizes working transparently and collaboratively with clients of all backgrounds and orientations. She is a life-long learner, and her practice is grounded in the belief that we all have the capacity to learn, grow, and heal.
Professional interests:
You can almost always find Katy outside, recreating with her dogs. Katy loves anything adventure-based, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, horse-riding...you name it, she digs it! Katy is a huge fan of live music, travel, and new experiences.
